            Thendara Golf Club, a Donald Ross design located in the Southwest portion of the Adirondack Park, is hiring for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent. Thendara Golf Club is an 18-hole, semi-private golf club servicing both membership and guests. Thendara Golf Club welcomes many visitors to the Old Forge area and has a strong reputation for both friendly hospitality and well-maintained playing conditions. This position is great for students, graduates, or greenskeepers looking to advance their career in Golf.

Responsibilities include:

• ·       Daily management of a staff of up to 15 employees
• ·       Moisture management on greens, tees, and fairways
• ·       Pesticide, fertilizer, and plant health product applications
• ·       Daily course setup and tournament preparation
• ·       Training of staff on various equipment and jobs
• ·       Disease and Pest ID and management
• ·       Irrigation troubleshooting and repair

Requirements:

• ·       1+ year of golf course maintenance experience
• ·       Ability to adapt to urgency and pace
• ·       Ability to work 1 weekend day per week, seldomly both on certain tournaments

Benefits:

• ·       $40,000-$50,000 for 9-month position. December, January, February off. DOE.
• ·       Local and National GCSANY and GCSAA dues
• ·       All costs associated with NY Pesticide license
• ·       Support and costs associated with upgrading to NY Applicator pesticide license
• ·       Flexible usage of Personal Days
• ·       Ability to learn systems at a busy golf course
